ohhh I didn’t consider that. we’ll look into adding that!
It's a pretty good rhythm game with an art style that really screams Newgrounds. The music is great and the animations are awesome.
I'll compare this to other rhythm games I've played before.
Instead of the game's difficulty relying more on speed, I think it would be better if it was more reliant on different techniques (i.e. holding down one key while playing other keys). Speaking of the notes you hold down, I think they should look like DDR's hold-down keys since they can be hard to notice when there are shorter periods to hold down a key. They also disappear in chunks, which could be fixed later.
Other ambitious suggestions:
Mapping tools. Kinda like a "make your own track" sort of deal that could use what Geometery Dash used where you could insert audio portal codes to find songs that you wanted and make a stage based off of it. Something like that would be really cool.
Recalibration option. If someone's device is slightly offbeat for some reason, then they could fix it manually. Rhythm games like Voez and Deemo also have this sort of feature.
A versus mode. Rapping against other people would be cool. It could work like how Guitar Hero 3's vs battles work, though if both players make it to the end, the winner is decided based on score.
Key settings. Something like adjusting the speed at which the keys can go. This won't change the difficulty, just how many keys show up on the screen at a time. So like at slower speeds, there's more keys, but at faster speeds, there's less. You could also make like really masochistic options like invisible keys or keys that move horizontally halfway through for those looking for extra challenge.
Controller options. Maybe add a way to remap buttons? I know some people who might want to use IJKL or TFGH or something completely different.
Extra awards. Maybe adding "full-combo" awards or "All-Sick" awards after each track would help reward those who put in the effort to do that.
And maybe make the combo text a little more visible. Maybe putting it in front of the player and keys and move it down to the bottom so it doesn't obstruct anything.
Overall, great game, and I hope it gets better from here.
